We would like to recognize two of our very own members for attending a Ropes Rescue training course a few weeks ago. Captain John Studt and Firefighter Doyle Spence spent 40 hours away from their full-time job to become certified in ropes rescue Technician 1 and 2. This class was held in Iowa City and many people from all over the United States attended! This was a great opportunity to make connections with people from departments all over the country!

On Saturday April 27, Solon, Mt Vernon, and Jefferson-Monroe(Swisher) Fire Departments conducted a live fire training north of Solon. Live fire training is the best training firefighter’s can get because it is the most realistic thing to a real house on fire. Firefighter’s practiced moving hose lines inside and putting fire out as well as searching for potential victims inside. Once the training was completed, firefighter’s lit it one more time to burn it completely to the ground. Solon Fire would like to thank @johnson.county.ambulance for standing by and keep the firefighters healthy and safe.

Solon 132 responded to Mt Vernon for a house fire on 5-26-23 at 09:21pm

After a full day at their full time job, these go getters found some time to brush up on a few skills!!

This weekend was a very special weekend for the Solon Fire Department. We have waited almost four years to move into our new fire station. We can’t thank the community, the supporters and the family’s of the firefighters enough. Countless hours were put in fundraising and going to meetings to keep this dream moving forward. The video you see is 139 coming back from the first call that we had responding from the new station.

On 7-15-2022 at q:56am Solon 132 responded to North Liberty for a building fire. No injuries were reported.
